2015: 5 DAYS MORE! HOW SUSTAINABLE IS OUR FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD? 1 John 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ It is intrinsic in Gods nature to share and love. God is love says the beloved apostle (1John 4:8). His craving, in the dateless past, was for man, the crown of His creation, to commune with Him; His ultimate desire in the eternal future is for man to live with Him forever. His overriding concern in this present life is for man to walk with Him. His earnest calls to man and what He does for him are to achieve this intention. Once we are at oneness with Him (through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, the Saviour), we have access to the riches of His goodness, grace and glory. Our experience will get better everyday. Once we board the ship of salvation, we get into the fellowship of the triune God and His blood-bought Church. We become a part of His body where we find nourishment for our souls. To be in fellowship with God is to experience a divine intimacy that excludes sin, self and Satan. We become partakers of His divine nature escaping the corruption of the world. Are we in fellowship with God or merely a visible, local assembly? If we are really in fellowship with God it will show - by how we think, what we say and what we do. The way we live is the most indisputable evidence of our friendship or enmity with God. To be in fellowship with God implies: F - Friendship with God E - Experience with God L - Love in demonstration L - Liberty through the Spirit O - Opportunity for growth W - Walk with God S - Separation from the world H - Holiness of heart I - Integrity in character P - Partnership in progress To have access to the riches of Gods grace this approaching new year, we must review the substance, strength and sustainability of our fellowship with God. 1 John 1:6-7 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin
