2015 ELECTIONS; MY STANCE ON BUHARI AND JONATHAN... Enenche Enenche (Comedian) My name is Enenche, I am the great grandson of the great Enenche Udoh of Ai- Dogodo clan of Okpoga, Okpokwu local Govt. Area of Benue State, North Central Nigeria I am that Nigerian, whose allegiance is first to the Green White banner, before any other sentiment or consideration... I would tell you how it is! My views here are inspired by love for fatherland and not love for any man or interest at the expense of the wellbeing of Nigeria. I have been following the leadership of Nigeria right from childhood, in my own little way I can say I know Nigeria. 2015 offers Nigerians the opportunity to make or mare the possibility of rebuilding Nigeria and this task must be taken with every form seriousness. When President Yardua was sick and our Nation was heading for doom, we cried out, we stormed Unity Fountain to demand that Dr Goodluck be made Acting President, we did this not because we loved Dr Goodluck than Yardua, but because we love Nigeria more than any interest we deem is capable of grounding the Nigerian state. When it was election time in 2011, I came out openly to campaign for Buhari, my reason; NIGERIA WAS TOO FRAGILE A NATION TO HAND OVER TO MAN WHOSE LEADERSHIP CREDENTIALS I DONT KNOW. I am no longer passionate about Buhari, I would tell you my reason. President Goodluck was declared winner and in the interest of National unity, I congratulated him. Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as president, has not proven me wrong, neither has he succeeded in shaming people like me who had our reservation our his ability to steer the affairs of the Nigerian State to a glorious and enviable height. No man can function above his inner capacity to deliver! Some of you who are singing Buhari’s song today, insulted me! Dr Goodluck as president, to me has not really demonstrated to be the Nigerias president, rather I see an Ijaw christian president in him... Nigeria belongs to Christians and Muslims. He has succeeded in polarising Nigeria across religious lines, our Army is weak under his watch, militants now performing the duties of Nigerian Navy, our systems are so weak that any man can do anything and go with it, patriotism is fast disappearing in the hearts of many. As a duty to my country, it is my responsibility to stand and support wherever is the president of Nigeria, I owe Dr Goodluck this patriotic support, but that doesnt mean I cant voice out my fears. While I have pointed out few sins of Dr Goodluck, let me face Gen. Buhari. In 2011, why I voted for Buhari was because at that time he was the better option whose leadership credentials I know and believed can stand the test of time. My reservation for Gen. Buhari came when shortly after INEC annouced the presidential election result, violence erupted across the North, Corp members slained... General Buhari didnt come out as a Nationalist to calm the situation. I looked out for my Buhari, he was no where to be found. Nigeria boiled, blood on our streets, homes razed and the state of a nation was crashing... He only came out to say those causing the mayhem were street boys and not his supporters. You and I know the truth. You know the true strength of a leader in the midst of crises. General Buhari never seazed the moment to calm the down the situation, if he had done that, he would made a big leadership plus... he sacrificed this big leadership plus on the altar of sentiments and selfishness. When BH came calling, blood and tears fill our streets, I was watching General Buharis body language, I never saw him, take that non political, nationalistic, patriotic stands in ending the BH blood merchandise. All these killied the love I have for Buhari. I am in a dilemma, I dont know who to vote, I have a voters card and ballot paper, please advise me on who to vote between Dr Goodluck and Gen. Buhari. In the interest of National wellbeing, i dont see a true Nationalistic leader in Dr Goodluck or Gen. Buhari... but are sentimentalists who are taking advantage of our divides to further divide Nigeria for their non holistic national interest. In 2015 I wont vote. I cant voted for Dr Goodluck, a man who has shown he lacks the capacity to put Nigeria on that path of honour and glory. ... neither can I vote General Buhari, a man who has shown that this views and convictions are not far from that Abubakar Shekau and his BH. May God help us to navigate through this path ineptitude has dragged us to. May God heal Nigeria!
