2015 FACTORY STOCKS BODY: Any American made stock passenger car body on a stock unaltered full frame, or Chrysler unibody. No front wheel drives. No Camaro or Mustang bodies. Aftermarket plastic nose and/or tail pieces are allowed, but must be stock appearing. Rear of car must be sealed off, no exposed fuel cell. No spoilers (even if factory equipped), wings, skirts, air scoops, hood scoops, or anything that alters stock appearance. Bodies cannot be moved from the original body mount rubber bushing no more than +/- 1” cannot be less than 5 ½” from ground. A front visor is allowed on the windshield area MAX 7 inches. No side or rear window visors allowed. Sunroofs and T-tops must be reinforced and enclosed. No Nerf bars. Maximum one inch wide by two inch tall steel or Lexan rub rails allowed - bolted flush to body. All glass, plastic, upholstery, lights, mirrors, and trim must be removed. Cars must be stock appearing. No cutting, channeling, shortening, or modifying of body is allowed. No excessive trimming of fenders or hoods allowed, must maintain stock OEM appearance. All doors, fenders, and window openings must remain stock appearing and OEM dimensions and be the same on both sides. No straight slab sides. No enclosed interiors, or decking allowed. Front edge of rear deck cannot be more than 8” forward of center of rear end and must have at least 2” continuous drop from front to rear. Rear of dash can be no more than 35” from the center of the distributor or 28” from back edge of the center of stock hood. Original OEM front and rear firewalls must remain in stock location and be full and complete. Cars must have a complete stock steel roof mounted in OEM location and OEM rake and angle for model. All openings should be covered as to isolate the driver, subject to track approval. Racecar body should be maintained in such a manner as to keep a presentable appearance. Aluminum Body Parts: 1). Cars without stock steel front fenders will have 20lb weight penalty in front of engine. Cars without stock steel hood will have 10lb weight penalty in front of engine. Cars without stock OEM windshield posts attached to firewall must add 20lbs. in front of the engine total of 50 for all three. Added weight penalty must be lead ballast. OR 2). Maximum of 52% Rear Weight. FRAME: Frame must be full and complete. Cannot be Widened, Narrowed, Shortened, Lengthened, or be Cut, Bent, or Altered to change Suspension Brackets. Rear of frame behind upper shock mounts may be replaced with round, square, or rectangular tubing. Right rear frame cannot be narrowed for tire clearance. No other frame alterations allowed. All Bars forward of cage must be lower than the hood. BUMPERS: Stock type rear bumper required, a fabricated front bumper may be used with the following conditions: cars with aftermarket nose pieces- the bumper may extend past frame rails for support and reinforcement, but must be behind nosepieces. Cars without nosepieces- the bumper may not extend past front frame horns. NO SHARP EDGES. ROLL CAGE: Minimum four-point cage, minimum size 1 ½ “O. D. by .095” wall thickness. Minimum three bars in driver’s side door, and two bars on passenger side door Four-point quick release seat belt and harness required. Racing seats required. Car must have driver’s side window net. Car must have at least three bars in front of driver in windshield area. ENGINE: Must be stock for the make and model except no 400’s or larger small or big blocks. Cast piston only, Chevy must use 4 equal valve relief pistons. OEM crankshaft only- cannot be lightened. No aerowing, bullnose, knife edge, undercut or drilling of second or third rod throws. OEM steel Connecting rods only must remain stock OEM length, weight and shape. No lightening of any parts. Aftermarket water pump, mini starter, pulleys, harmonic balancer and oil pans okay. Aftermarket power-steering pumps okay. Metric cars may run a 350. NO stroking or de-stroking. Engine must be in stock location. Solid motor and transmission mounts okay. Maximum cranking compression is 175lbs. with ignition off, engine turned over 5 times). Oil pans must have at least 1”inspection hole. CAMSHAFT, VALVETRAIN, AND CYLINDER HEADS: Hydraulic cam and flat tappet lifters only. Lift is .447 maximum measured at the retainer. Engine must maintain 14” of vacuum at 1200 rpm. Valves sizes will be 1.94 maximum intake valve diameter, 1.50 maximum exhaust valve diameter on Chevrolet engines. No hollow valve stems. Stock size and shape valve springs and retainers. Push ;rods must be stock length and diameter only. Stamped steel 1.5 rockers must be used on Chevy; 1.6 on Ford and Chrysler. NO roller tips. Open chambered heads only, must be unaltered, O.E.M. NO porting, polishing, or gasket matching allowed. The only GM head numbers allowed are 14079267, 3986336, 3986339, 3986339X, 3986388, 3932441, 376445, 3928454, 3932454, 3876487, 3973487, 3973487X, 3973493, 3951598, 468642, 330862, 333882, 3998920, 3998991, 3998993, 3998997, and 3970126. Screw in studs and guide plates ok. 305 engines may use 305 heads (no vortec). CARBURATION AND FUEL SYSTEM: Cast Holley unaltered # 4412 -2 barrel only. Choke plate may be removed. 4412 must be cast into choke horn of carb. Maximum spacer and adapter 1” combined total. Fuel pump must be in stock location for make, NO electric pumps or fuel injection even if factory equipped. EXHAUST: Stock unaltered cast iron exhaust manifolds only no porting or grinding allowed. No Chevy center dump, Corvette, marine, Lt1 or tubular steel type manifolds. No adaptors between head and manifold must be able to use all OEM exhaust bolt holes in head. No two into one exhaust or x pipes must remain duals. INTAKE MANIFOLD: Stock OEM unaltered aluminum or cast iron intake only. No aftermarket or stock high performance or high rise. No bowties. No porting, polishing, cutting or gasket matching. TRANSMISSIONS: Any stock type automatic or manual. Automatics must have stock appearing working 11” torque converter cannot be smaller with ring around it. No direct drives. Transmission Coolers are allowed. Manual transmissions must have single disc 10.5” clutch, flywheel and pressure plate must be steel with a minimum 15lb steel flywheel. No mini clutches. Steel drive shafts only must be painted white and have a loop 6” from front u-joint. FUEL: Pump or racing gas only. No additives or smells. Fuel cell must be secured in trunk any part of fuel cell cannot be forward of any part of rear end. SUSPENSION: Front and rear suspension must be stock unaltered OEM for that make and model of frame, ball joints, spindles and all components. No air shocks. No alterations to any part of the suspension or frame will be allowed. Any spring in stock location no spring rubbers, no adjustable weight jacks of any kind, must sit in unaltered stock mounts. Cars may run IMCA type upper control arms. Sway bars must be stock for make and model mounted in OEM mounts. No suspension stops of any kind. Shocks must have stock type rubber ends, no screw on type rod ends even if welded, must be mounted in stock location on frame, control arm and rear end. No bulb-type, threaded body, coil-over, or remote reservoir shocks. No external or internal bumpers or stops no Schrader valves on shocks. REAR END: Stock rear-end for make and model. No modifying axle bearings or axle tube length. All brackets and control arm, shock mounts must be in stock location. Gears may be locked must use stock unaltered ring gear carrier may weld or use bolt in locking blocks. No full spools, Detroit lockers or torque sensing devises. STEERING / DRIVER SEAT: Steering boxes must remain in stock location. Aftermarket steering wheel and quick release steering coupling are recommended. Quick steer boxes allowed. NO part of driver seat may be no further back than 25” forward of center line of rear end housing. RADIATORS: Any (1) radiator that fits in original location without any body modifications is allowed. Water pump mounted fans only, No electric fans. IGNITION: One 12 volt battery only must be mounted securely in rear of driver’s compartment or trunk area. One stock type distributor, module and coil in stock location only. Ignitions on/off switch must be clearly marked. No traction control devices of any kind. No digital gauges or tachometers. BRAKES: May use any (1) one master cylinder. Aftermarket pedal OK. Cars must have at least 3 working brakes. Right front may be blocked. No bias adjustment is allowed. Disc brakes allowed in rear No aluminum or composite rotors or calipers. Steel, stock type rotors on rear disc are mandatory. No lighting of components. TIRES AND WHEELS: 8” maximum wide wheels allowed, 15” diameter steel wheels only, wheel covers and mud plugs right rear only. No bead locks or screws allowed. NO bleed-off valves. 1” steel lug nuts are mandatory. Approved Hoosier asphalt pull-offs only, 35 or higher, must durometer 45 or higher. No grooving, siping, or softening allowed. Both rear tires must be Hoosier F45’s or F56’s. WEIGHT: Weight may be securely added in trunk or under the hood, but not in plain view or within the driver’s compartment must be painted white with car number. Car must weigh minimum 3000 lbs. with driver after race. COURTESY RULE: Any car with “minor” rule infractions will be allowed to race (1) event. Infraction must be determined before the race. Cars with infractions are subject to weight penalty. CLAIM PROCEDURE RULES: ENGINE CLAIMING RULES: Any Factory Stock driver in the same race that finishes on the lead lap may claim one of the top three Finishers (If they are Factory Stock cars) immediately after the “A” feature in the tech area. (A) $500.00 and swap claim on engines. (B) Claim does not include - Flywheel, clutch/assembly, bell housing, breathers, carburetor, starter, motor mounts, oil/temp sending units, water pump, fan, pulleys, dip stick, distributor, wires, water outlet/restrictor, fuel pump, fuel pump (plate/rod). (C) Driver may NOT claim another driver finishing in a position behind them and may not claim the same driver more than once per calendar year. CARBURETOR / DISTRIBUTOR / SHOCK CLAIM RULES: The official claiming area is in the tech area, or wherever track designates. Claim must be made immediately after the “A” feature race finishes (checkered flag). Only the driver may make the claim. Driver must have money. The claiming driver must be on the same lap as the driver being claimed. Any one of the top three finishers (if Factory Stocks), may be claimed by another Factory Stock driver. In the event of multiple claims on the same item on the same car, (carburetor, distributor, or shock), a draw will be held with claiming drivers to determine who gets claim. Refusal to sell will forfeit all cash, trophies, and points for the night. If claim is refused, claim is NOT held against driver who made claim. Carburetor claim $200.00 and swap, Shock or Spring claim $20.00 each and swap, Distributor claim $100.00 and swap. PROTEST RULE: Any driver in the same race on the lead lap may protest another car immediately after feature in the tech area. $250.00 cash per component $50.00 to the track, if legal protested car gets $200.00 if illegal protestor gets $200.00 back. SCORING: Numbers must be 24” high and 4” wide on both sides of car and 28” tall on the roof and positioned so it can be read from the passenger side. Cars must be painted and numbered neatly and to be seen easily by the scorekeepers. The number on the roof is the most important number. Reflective vinyl is not recommended for roof application due to the poor read ability. All numbers must be of different color than background. When positioning the number on the roof, it should be readable from the passenger door. ***If something is not listed in the rules, it is considered “ILLEGAL” until it is determined by BGS officials to be allowed and put into the rule packages. 2015 Texas Jr. Mini-Stock Rules DRIVER REQUIRMENTS: The driver must be minimum of 12 years of age and not older than 16 years of age. We must have a copy of your child’s birth certificate for our records. If a driver is racing and during that race season he turns 17 he will be allowed to complete the remainder of the season. All drivers must have a good working knowledge of how to operate a car and all required safety procedures before entering on to the racing surface. It will be the sole responsibility of the parent to see that your child has the working knowledge to enter onto the racing surface safely. Notarized release forms must be completed before being allowed to race. No contact rule: Any driver deliberately contacting another driver’s car will be put to the back on the first offense. On the second offense the driver will be asked to leave the track (black flagged). CHASSIS: Car must be 1962 or newer with 4 cylinder motor. Trucks are allowed. Front or rear wheel drive allowed. Cars must be stock appearing as they came from the factory. No sharp edges allowed on bumpers, tow loops allowed on bumpers not to exceed width of frame. Aftermarket plastic front nose pieces allowed. Stock floor pan must be in car and unaltered unless repairs have been made due to rust or crash damage and then all repairs must be made with steel. No aluminum in floor pan. The fire wall and trunk floor must be retained also. Wheel base must be stock for that make and model car. No alterations from the front of strut tower to the rear of the shock tower. BODY: Front fender wells may be removed if the shock or strut is not connected to it. No gutting of car. Fenders may be trimmed for tire clearance. Rear inner fender wells must remain in car. Hole allowed in the hood for air filter only. No spoilers allowed unless it was a factory item. Routine maintenance of the appearance of your car is required. NOTE: Decking is optional but cannot be higher than top of door so driver can climb out of passenger side if needed. ROLL CAGE: Minimum 4 point cage with x bracing required. 3 door bars on drivers side and 2 door bars on passenger side are required. Roll cage bars may run from front or - 2 - 2014 Jr. Mini Stock Rules for GTRP Rvsd. 12.04.2013 Nothing on the rear of the car may extend outside of body anywhere. All cages are to be constructed with the driver’s utmost safety in mind. All welds must be complete and done by a trained welder. If you are not one when building your car, find someone. Your child’s safety depends on it! Rub rails are permitted and may be attached to body. Must not extend past rear of front fender or front of rear fender and be no larger diameter than 1x2 box tubing or 1 ½ round tubing. SUSPENSION: Car’s suspension must remain stock from factory. No interchanging of leaf or coil springs. No aftermarket suspension parts. No weight jacks of any type permitted. Lowering blocks on leaf spring cars will be permitted not to exceed 3 inches (lowering blocks must be equal on both sides). Upper and lower control arms must remain unaltered and be for make and model of vehicle. All shocks and struts must remain in stock location. STEERING: Steering box must be stock and in original location. Steering may be quickened and a quick release steering wheel is permitted. REAR END: Rear end must be O.E.M. Locking of rear gear is permitted. BRAKES: All cars must have at least 3 wheel brakes. No aftermarket pedals master cylinders or proportioning valves allowed. TIRES AND WHEELS: Tires must be a passenger car type capable of having a road hazard warranty and be for street use only. Must be D.O.T. approved and not exceed a 70 series in size. Any steel wheel 7 inches wide or less allowed. No bead locks. Grooved and/or siped tires are allowed. WEIGHT: All cars (or trucks) must weigh minimum 2400 lbs. after the race including driver. ENGINES: All engines must remain stock from factory except as noted below. 2.3 liter on Fords, 2.4 liter on foreign and 2.5 liter on G.M., twin overhead cams NOT ALLOWED, turbo charged engines NOT ALLOWED. Bore size not to exceed - 3 - 2014 Jr. Mini Stock Rules for GTRP Revised. 12.04.2013 Motor may not exceed .060 over stock. Heads and block can be milled. Rods and crankshaft must remain stock for the size and year of the motor. No aluminum heads allowed unless it came on that vehicle and no porting allowed. All valve sizes must remain stock. Stock stroke of crankshaft must meet OEM specs. Cam must be capable of producing 15 in. of vacuum at 1000 R.P.M. Any hydraulic cam allowed. No solid lifter cams. No solid or adjustable lifters allowed. Adjustable cam pulleys allowed. All engines must remain in stock location. Solid motor mounts permitted and strongly advised. No headers allowed. All exhaust must be directed behind rear of driver’s seat. CARBURETORS: 2 bbl. carburetor not to exceed 500 C.F.M. (Must pass go/no go gauge) Choke horn must be in place but flap may be removed. Fuel injection type vehicles must be stock for make and model with no modifications allowed. No turbo chargers are allowed. Electric fuel pumps will be allowed only on fuel-injected cars and must have a shutoff switch that kills fuel pump if vehicle loses oil pressure to prevent fuel pump to continue to run in the event of a roll over. This will be MANDATORY on all fuel-injected cars. IGNITION: Cars must run Stock type ignition only. Only one battery is allowed. If the battery is in the driver’s compartment it must be securely mounted in an enclosed battery box. Gel cell batteries strongly advised. All cars must also have a battery disconnect switch mounted in easy access of all safety personnel that will kill all the electrical system when activated to protect the driver in the event of fuel loss during a crash or roll over. SAFETY: This class will abide by the same general safety rules in place for all other GTPR classes. Fire suits, gloves, neck braces and window nets are required. Roll bar padding is strongly advised. All cars must have a working fire extinguisher mounted securely with in drivers reach. All helmets must be current and have the appropriate safety ratings. Racing seats with a 5 point seat belt required. All seat belts must have SFI tag and no more than 3 years old, the date clearly marked. Fuel cell with can is required and must be securely mounted in all cars with the exception of fuel injected vehicles. If stock tank is to be used in fuel injected cars it must be securely enclosed to prevent damage and fuel loss in the event of a crash. If car has weight added it must be safely and securely fastened with minimum ½” bolts, painted white and the car number on the weights. Raceivers are Mandatory .- 4 - 2014 Jr. Mini Stock Rules for GTRP ENGINE CLAIM RULE: GTRP has the right to claim any motor from intake to oil pan for $500.00 if necessary to keep motors within the spirit that this class is intended for. Refusal of engine claim will result in all points and disqualification for that night. This is a kid’s class designed to give the kids a stepping stone to the higher classes and foremost to promote a good family hobby and enjoyment. DRIVE LINE: No aluminum flywheels, mini clutches or couplers allowed. Cars must run stock clutch and pressure plate. Cars must have a hole in bell housing for inspection purposes. Safety shield is required over bell housing to protect driver. All automatic transmissions must have a working stock OEM diameter torque converter. Transmission coolers allowed. All rear wheel drive cars must have a driveshaft loop. All drive shafts must be painted white. GENERAL INFORMATION Points will begin the first race run in the month of April and go through the last race held in the month of August. Hopefully this will help the conflict with school activities. The winner from the previous week will start 6th position or last if less cars. The high points person will start 5th if they did not win the previous week. Feature line up will be determined by points. Lowest points person starts on the pole. Exception: Any new driver will start in the rear of the field for their first night. Heat races will be determined by the draw. Exception: new driver start in the rear of the field for their first night. **In Jr. Minis, points will be awarded for heat race finishes. Points awarded will be based upon the number of cars. The last place finisher in the heat will receive 1 point and we will add 1 additional point for each place forward toward the front. Example: 4 cars in a heat: 4th gets 1 point, 3rd gets 2 points, 2nd gets 3 points and the winner gets 4 points. This will justify running a heat race. The rules that are in place may be amended at any time for the betterment of the class. This class will have hot laps, heat and feature races. Trophies or Plaques will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes in the feature.
