2015: FASHOLA SHOULD RUN FOR PRESIDENT AND WIN Babatunde Raji Fashola is a leader with a difference who overseas Lagos State the melting point of Nigeria. All tribes across Nigeria have huge representation in Lagos State and the fact that they live in harmony devoid of rancour and religious bigotry points to a leadership that knows its onions. A leadership that is all inclusive not a leadership that divides the country along ethnoreligious lines. The transformation of Lagos State from a rustic rambunctious city to a bustling metropolis has its foundations in the examplary leadership of Fashola. Indeed man is not infallible for there are various controversies that have dotted the career of The Governor extraordinaire, but alas his track record of instilling discipline, security and order is without compare. His demure exudes confidence and poise, attributes clearly lacking at the Federal level. He is the man who has sustained the industrial revolution in Lagos which has transformed the state into the commercial hub of black Africa all through sound economic policy and incentives. Fashola is a man who will end the rot at the centre. He is a man that can end the boko haram insurgency and his legal background will be an assurance that respect for human rights will be the bedrock upon which he will build his legacy. A Governor of the people who received the #BringBackOurGirls campaigners with open arms unlike those who hide behind a wall of riot police and the steel gates of the Aso rock. A leader who ventures into where only eagles dare, not like those who say visiting trouble spots will not solve the crisis, an excuse to conceal barefaced cowardice. A leader must exude confidence and poise for which Fashola is well endowed. Unlike the so called champion of PDP who is a bastion of ineptitude led by the collar by an overbearing dyslexic wife. Fashola needs no more accolades. His track record speaks volumes unlike the man who lives off the misfortune of others to climb the wrungs of power thus was ill prepared to assume leadership of the highest office when it was thrust upon him. The weekly bank robberies in Lagos have become a thing of the pass for Fashola has poured immense resources into the security forces thus securing lives and properties. Alas the exact opposite is the case at the helm, for the chief security officer of Abuja deemed it fit to abandon his duty post to dance skelewu in Kano while innocent citizens were being scrapped off the tarmac into waiting body bags as terrorists unleashed salvos of suicide bombers in a bid to stoke the embers of terror in the hearts of all Nigerians. He deemed it fit to watch as funds meant to fight boko haram are pilfered by the military brass, decimating and demoralising the troops on the ground while adding vim and impetus to a rampaging devilish insurgency. Many say fighting an insurgency is not easy, as examplified by the American experience. Well to correct misconceptions, Bush spent 8yrs, war mongering and wasting American lives on a fictional war on terror against his self styled axis of evil. In contrast, Obama took out Osama in 18 months without the loss of a single American life. Bush and the current occupant of Aso Rock have much in common. While Americans were dying due to hurricane Katrina, Bush was playing the guitar and dancing to country music. Hence they sent Bush and his party packing. Likewise Nigerians must arise in 2015. Fashola has the appeal to defeat any opponent hands down, legs up in a free and fair election. Nigeria is ripe for change from the clueless leadership laden in excuses and sympathy colluding crocodile tears to a vibrant purposeful leadership. Fashola is the man that can bring that change. Vote Fashola for President. A man who will change Nigeria for the better.
