2015 GENERAL ELECTION AND THE PRESERVATION AND DEFENDING OF THE ORO-HOOD! When a space becomes a place, it has a name. Prof. Ebong, in his book; Topophilia, the sense of place. And of course the name must be given by the inhabitants of the place that was once a Space. The inhabitants of this place, who are Cosmically, consciously and vibrationally, aligned and attached to this place, decide collectively on how to manage its affairs daily and possibly with a considerable compromise. It is no longer news that the PDP Government through Gov. Godswill Akpabio, has deprived the Oro Nation of the Governorship position in the long awaited 2015 election. This is obviously visible to the blind and audible to the deaf! Similarly, Oro have witnessed within the past seven years an Uncommon and unprecedented neglect and Marginalizalition perpetuated by the present Government headed by the Akpabios, for the Akpabios and to the Akpabios! It is on this backdrop that the people of Oron Nation must rise in one voice to reject, through our VOTES, our oppressors meal in whatever chameleonic guise it may appear by voting out all his imposed stooges. This is the only way we can regain our shattered integrity and respect within the political enclave called Akwa Ibom State. This would send a strong signal and message to those in government that the minority(ies) groups, especially the ones laying the Golden Egg(Oil), must not be taken for granted. The beauty of democracy is seen only when the majority or those in power may have their ways through effective and sincere negotiation and the voices of the minorities be heard and respected. It is sad that the government of the day has no regard for the minority groups except when its comes to exploiting its resources for his clannish interest. This is evidenced in the manner Oro Nation was criminally schemed out of the Governorship race through Senatorial makeshift and the way the primary election of the PDP was conducted across the State using Chibok girls, women, men and boys to insult the sensibility of an average Akwa Ibom person. The Flagrant display of the untamed ego through the Sekem Mantra...What Money Cannot Do, More Money Can is the height of ingratitude that a man in trust of the peoples mandate can display. This 2015 general election would mean many things to many persons. To most electorates, it is the time to send a strong message to those in office as well as those fronting and seeking elective positions to know and understand that in the game of politics, the electorates are the Kings and Queens! To EVERY WELL MEANING ORONIAN, It is a time to regain our battered and shattered image, A time to re-negotiate our paths to relevance in Akwa Ibom State within the shortest possible time, A time to tell the Emperor that we can never make friends with and accept Mediocrity(ies), A time to show the World that we are known for Excellence and are always willing to reward and promote excellence within us, A time to honour our forebearers whose bones and blood laced the land we now own, A time to tell our Oppressor that we have a Choice and we sure shall choose at the polls, A time to drum into the hearings of every political oppressors that there is a different between Primary and General Elections, A time to vote out impunity, A time to create and make history where our unborn generations shall be proud of, A time to stand tall with our heads high in the sky in winning and loosing, A time to stamp out criminal marginalization and impositions, A time to never in our lives trust ONWI ANIANG in protecting our interest, It is above all, a time to tell the Akpabios that the Isong Oro belong to us and as such we must collectively choose ,in a credibly and brotherly manners, who represent and holds our batons in the political arena. Lets make no mistake, 2015 Election is not about party or parties. It is not about Ruling Or Opposition parties but rather it is about which personalities and sharing formulas favours Our Collective Interests! We are not Marginalized because we are/were in Opposition party but we are being Marginalized because the personality managing the States affairs and resources has a chronic and undefined hatred for the Oron people. This is why a message of defiant must be sent to our oppressors camp through our VOTES! Party is just a platform to stand for an elective office in Nigeria and the people would only vote for a platform that favours their collective interests. This time around, we have to re-strategize our collective relevance and political survival by forming a formidable alliance with the Ibibio ethnic group since Annang ethnic group cannot be trusted to protect our interests. A Vote for Mr. Umana Okon Umana/ Engr. Benedict Ukpong ticket under the platform of APC will certainly, within the shortest possible time, amend and correct all the wrongs done us by this Aniang Government. We cannot be fooled forever by Gov. Akpabios sugar-coated tongue. A time to act is now, Vote Mr. Umana Okon Umana/Engr. Benedict Ukpong (Ntanta Oro) for Governor! Oro enyin, esosongho oo!
