2015! Like many in the New Year Im making changes, hoping for better. I began walking again (protecting my lungs) and when I cant go out, I will use the rowing machine. Cleaned some closets and am purging. Its hard to believe 2015 is here. 2014 went by in the blink of an eye it seemed. Ive made some new friends, enjoyed many new experiences and looking forward to many more. Most important of all is that I spent some wonderful time over the holidays with my Mom, step Dad, Grandma, 2 sons, my daughter-in-law, my grandkids, nieces and nephews all grand and great, cousins, and aunts. Lots of reminiscing, even when they didnt know I was ;-) especially over my kids when they were growing up and how proud I am of them today. Reminisced about my Grandma Bess and the farm and I didnt realize how much older I am than some of my cousins, as they didnt recall the cows and the milk barn. The oldest is sometimes the best! Special moments were my son graduating from Tyndale in Toronto and then getting a job as a youth minister in Toronto, my oldest getting married to the love of his life and becoming a Dad to very special kids, my nephew moving to Alberta to apprentice in hydro and my other nephew apprenticing in welding, another niece getting a new job and an ace photographer, another niece in the music field just like me! 2 retirements in the family, my brother-in-law and step Dad and Heinz upending the right way somewhat so some friends kept jobs. My Mom is healthy, another niece getting married to a wonderful guy and sharing special moments with her. My sister, getting healthier every day, my brother still working when things at Heinz may have meant total collapse. Trespass Music clients reaching marks, gaining reviews, shows and sought after showcases at conferences and the launch of Kingsville Folk Fest in my hometown with a crew of amazing people. And new friends! WOW, WOW, WOW! I wish 2014 had been bright all the way around, but I lost some dear friends that were too far away to say goodbye to, my health hasnt been the best and its made for a challenging time staying home and recuperating for this road warrior, which meant missing out on saying good bye to them and seeing people farther away who are very important and special to me. You know who you are and I miss and think of you each day. All in all though, I can only count my blessings and know that 2015 should only bring better for you and me! I still believe we need to be kind and reach out to those in need and love everyone around us for who and what they are and end violence and bullying to all. Lets be there for caregivers when they need a hand, make a change and listen to people with mental health issues and seriously, we still cant end disease?! We may only need to make a phone call, share a smile, or a say hello to make someones day just a little more special. Lets never forget where we came from, we all began the same, a new life, with new beginnings and no fear. Life is a journey to love and enjoy each and every moment, hour, day, month and year. Enjoy your 2015 to the fullest! If you got this far, whats your 2014/2015 look like? Hugs, smiles, love and kindness to you!
