2015: OBJ, Ladoja In Closed-Door Meeting. *Baba’s Visit Part Of Ongoing Consultation —Ex-Gov# Former President Obasanjo, on Saturday, paid a visit to a former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja. Obasanjo, in what has been tagged a private visit, arrived at Ladoja’s house on Ondo Road, old Bodija, Ibadan, in a black Land Cruiser Jeep marked GGE 833 BT at about 6:10 p.m. After exchange of pleasantries with his host and photographs were taken, Obasanjo asked that he and Ladoja be allowed to meet privately, saying “please, give us two minutes for a two-man talk or is that not how they say it? Emerging from the closed-door session after about an hour and some minutes, the former president, when approached by reporters for briefing, said, “it is a private visit and I don’t have anything to say about it.” Pressed further to comment on national matters and the seeming rapprochement between him and President Goodluck Jonathan, he said, “did they tell you we are fighting? Look, Tetebuyan (parodying Tribune) I have told you I am not talking.” When he saw that the reporter would not allow him go without talking, Obasanjo held the reporter by the hand and took him to his vehicle, while giving one-word answers to most of the questions asked by the reporter. On the special national convention on the PDP and the truce he brokered between aggrieved PDP governors and President Jonathan, he said “Am I the party chairman? Go and ask the chairman; he will tell you.” The host, in a terse comment on the visit, described it as part of the ongoing national consultation with the former president as a central figure. Ladoja said part of their discussion was the meetings Obasanjo held with President Jonathan and aggrieved PDP governors in Abuja last week. He added that the issue of the welfare of Nigerians, whether Nigerians were enjoying or not, also formed part of the discussion. On whether the issues in the party had been resolved, Ladoja said the leaders of the party were still working on how best to resolve the crisis. “You know Baba was in Abuja for three days and he met with some governors. So, he came here as part of the ongoing consultation. We discussed national matters and the issue of agriculture. Of course, you know both of us are farmers. Asked if his visitor revisited the issue of him (Ladoja) returning to the PDP, Ladoja, who took a brief pause, said nothing of such was discussed.
