2015.... WITHOUT GOD! - JAMES 4:13-17 To begin the year we need to ask ourselves one important question; are we going to follow Jesus or tell Jesus to follow us? There are THREE THINGS we must not start this NEW YEAR with, so as not to put our life in danger of destruction: 1. DOING LIFE WITHOUT GOD - James 4:13 Trying to live life in our own sufficiency without God in our plan will bring us to the ground of destruction. Though, theres nothing wrong in planning, but when God is omitted in our plans, then things will surely go wrong at the end. Remember without God we can do nothing, and with Him all things are possible. Dont let us behave like these ingrates in James 4:13 who tried making plans without God, marking place of business without God, manipulating time without God, manufacturing purpose without God, measuring profit without God. Any of our plans that leave God out are plans with human wisdom, and we will actually fail. Remember, without GOD we can do nothing, because by strength shall no man prevail. 2. DETERMINING LIFE WITHOUT GOD - James 4:14 The life we live is not ours, its Gods own life. When we determine our life ourselves, we will fail to comprehend the complexity of life, we will fail to comprehend the uncertainty of life, we will fail to comprehend the brevity of life. Remember life is short, we cant determine what will happen, only God knows. (Job 7:6-7, Job 9:25-26, Psalm 39:5, Psalm 103:15-16) 3. DESCRIBE LIFE WITHOUT GOD - James 4:16-17 No one know what can happen any minute from now. Therefore, refuse to assume the office of God. God alone can determine the next seconds. Let us copy one thing from the life of Apostle Paul, always believing he cant do anything successfully unless God Will (Acts 18:21, 1Cor. 4:19, 1Cor. 16:7, Phil. 2:24) Paul is always conditioning is plans and doings on the will of God. Remember, the secret of God is with them that fear Him, and He show them His Covenant (Psalm 25:14). Anything we do without God can never be fruitful, and at the end we will become a fool. Start with GOD and end with GOD, then your flourishing continues to other years to come.
