Great food all over the city! 8: Kansas, Charleston Music Hall 10: Ron White(Tater Salad), N Chas PAC 10: Medal of Honor Bowl, Johnson Hagood Stadium 14-17: Comedy Festival 17: Shovels and Rope, N Chas PAC 22: Miranda Lambert, N Chas Coliseum 22-25: Inaugural Charleston International Jazz Festival 23-25: 35th Annual Charleston Boat Show 25: Lowcountry Oyster Festival, Boone Hall 30: Vince Gill and Lyle Lovett, N Chas PAC 30: Drive By Truckers, Chas Music Hall Travel and Leisure Magazine has voted Charleston #3 on the list of America’s Most Charming Accents. The accolades for the greatest city in the world just keep rolling in. We’ve recovered most of the value in our homes that we lost through those rough recession years. In 2007, we had a median sales price of $210k and 2014 will close out at over $220k. We shared some tough times with the rest of the nation from 2008 to 2011, but things are looking really good all over the tri-county area now. Our sales prices are rising at a reasonable and sustainable rate now and we still have plenty of room to appreciate to get back to the trend line. Rentals are booming and the economy is awesome and diverse. Boeing has of course been great for the area, but the tech and digital companies moving into the area has also been fantastic. New restaurants are opening daily downtown to feed the tourism industry that has been thrust into the spotlight with all the media accolades. Getting voted #1 city in the US for 4 years in a row is just incredible. We’re no longer the hidden gem that we were for so long. Everyone else knows about us now.
