2015 is off to a busy start for the Center for Constitutional Rights! We will be in court 3 times in January: on January 13 we’ll be at the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in our case challenging the NYPD’s suspicionless surveillance of American Muslims in New Jersey, Hassan v. City of New York… January 20 will see us at the Washington State Supreme Court in Davis v. Cox, a case where we are defending members of the Olympia Food Co-op and their right to boycott Israeli goods… and our suit against private military contractor CACI for its role in the torture of Iraqis at the Abu Ghraib prison, Al Shimari v. CACI, will be back in district court January 30. Three of our marquee cases are headed towards trial in the second half of 2015 – Al Shimari; SMUG v. Lively, our case against U.S. anti-LGBTI extremist Scott Lively for his role in fostering the persecution of LGBTI people in Uganda; and Ashker v. Brown, our class action lawsuit on behalf of hundreds of prisoners in solitary confinement at Pelican Bay prison. Thanks so much for supporting CCR and making this work possible!
