2015 marks 50 years of both Singapores independence and the formation of the Singapore Armed Forces. A quote from Dr Goh Keng Swee, which offers a timely reminder of the need for constant security and vigilance: We must sharpen awareness of our collective or national interests...Not everybody is well disposed to the Republic. Indeed from time to time, we have come across clear evidence of malice and hostility. And so, as the saying goes, the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
