2015 was no doubt the most eventful year for Adonis Athletics and everyone involved in its growth to the core. In 4 years we have had an advertising budget of pricely $0 per month. Adonis Athletics Granville is bursting at the seams with members and others on waiting lists and Adonis Athletics Castle Hill has surpassed 50 members being open less than 3 months - also with precisely $0 advertising budget. Every single day is a blessing to be able to be around the people i am around and be able to touch more lives and dare i say inspire people. Every year i write down my goals in every aspect and i make sure i reach them and this year was no exception. At Adonis Athletics, we always keep our head down and do what we have to do in order to develop as much as we can and be as good as we can. We make mistakes and learn from them and one of my favorite quotes is An expert is a person who has made all the mistakes that can be made in a very narrow field. - Niels Bohr We dont consider ourselves experts but we like to think we are running short on mistakes to make in the narrow field which we specialised in since day one - a performance centre that changed the status quo over 4 years ago when it was established to house strongmen, powerlifters, bodybuilders, weightlifters and athletes and take care of their strength and conditioning from a scientific and knowledge based background. So far weve done a pretty kick ass job. Here is a short review of the year that was 2014: March 2014 Adonis Athletics founder Amir Fazeli competed at the prestigious Arnold Sports Festival for the second year in a row. Using the Adonis Athletics training method Amir achieves a Silver medal in the total and 1st place in the deadlift (307.5kg) beating the previous world record holder. March 2014 Adonis Athletics hosted Dr Layne Norton and co in an unforgettable and information packed series of seminars March 2014 Adonis Athlete Aaron Blacklock was selected for GWS Rams development team, the Waratahs under 20s and Parra two blues 1st grade April 2014 Adonis Athlete Christine smashed 3 Australian records at a powerlifting meet with a 112.5 squat, 55kg bench, 127.5 deadlift at u57g junior female category. May 2014 Adonis Athletics hosts a highly anticipated Lifthard seminar featuring Kirksman and Lester. An information packed seminar which saw lifters and weightlifting enthusiasts and Crossfitters from far and wide attend and get their learn on. June 11 2014 Adonis Athletics turns 4 years old June 2014 Adonis Athlete Levi Dodd gets selected into the Canterbury Bulldogs NSW Cup team. August 2014 At the Powerlifting Australia Junior Nationals: Adonis Athlete Nick won gold for bench press only - 141kg at 18 years old under 93kg sub junior div Hazem took silver in 120kg junior div on 3 weeks notice Christine took silver medal in under 57kg junior female div August 2014 Adonis Athletics hosts leg 4 of Sydney Strongman Series as one of the highlight comps of the year Sept 2014 Adonis Athlete Mike Jones competes at the Brisbane Fitness Expo taking out 2nd place despite many lingering and dibilitating injuries with an impressive performance Sept 2014 About 15 lifters from Adonis Athletics entered the NSPC powerlifting competition. No less than 6 Australian records were broken between them all with an absolutely smashing performance all around with PB falling like the Berlin Wall. October 2014 Adonis Athletics Castle Hill opened its door to the public with Coaches William and Carlos commandeering the ship. With 30 people signed up before we even opened in great anticipation for a quality training facility in the Hills District...they were not disappointed! It has been barely 3 months and already we are past 50 members there with zero advertising - just word of mouth. Nov 2014 Adonis Athlete Levi Dodd was rewarded for his great efforts in the NSW Cup side of Canterburry Bulldogs NRL team and was given a spot in the NRL first grade squad for the summer. This was a huge achievement for Levi after much trials and tribulations and much dedication. Nov 2014 Adonis Strength & Conditioning Express was launched at Granville and Castle Hill locations with a great reception. The first class of its kind with fully periodized and innovative strength and conditioning fully applicable to the time poor individual who wants to get the most bang for their buck. Nov 2014 Adonis Athletics hosts Brandon Lilli, Dr Mike Isreatel and Chad Smith from Juggernaut Trainig Systems for an epic seminar of super high quality and packed full of information and knowledge. Both days were sold out. Nov 2014 Adonis Athlete Mike Jones competes at the highly anticipated GPA World Championships taking out Bronze medal in the super heavy weight category alongside Brandon Lilli and Chad Smith...with a broken foot. Adonis Athlete Daniel Nunnari from Adonis Athletics Castle Hill also competed breaking the world deadlift record in the junior under 82.5kg division with a 235kg pull also setting the world record push/pull total in the process. Nov 2014 Adonis Athletics hosted a tell-all seminar with Benedikt Magnusson and Andy Bolton and Amir Fazeli as guest speaker on the art of the sumo deadlift specifics. Highly informative and very high quality as usual. Sold out seminar! Nov 2014 Adonis Athletics began working on Zubin Weightlifting Club which when it opens in January will be the weighlifting department of Adonis Athletics to accommodate our athletes and weightlifters. With head coach Ali Azari - an Iranian ex weightlifter and Olympian bringing a wealth of knowledge to the table. Nov 2014 Adonis Athlete Steven Nguyen puts up a stellar performance at the National Oz Tag championships being a key player in helping his team win the grand final. Something they had repeatedly fell short of in previous years. Dec 2014 3 Adonis Athletes competed at the Sydney Strongman Series finals. Naj took gold medal in the womens Div 1 and Hazem took Bronze in the mens novice. They did the Adonis family proud. Dec 2014 8 lifters from Adonis Athletics competed at the 2014 Asian & Oceania Powerlifting Championships. We brought back 20 medals between us. With 4 of the 8 lifters breaking Australian, Oceania and Commonwealth records. Owner and head coach Amir Fazeli achieved a gold medal in the Asia & Oceania championships along with Raymond Wong. Dec 2014 The Adonis Athletics Xmas party was the most epic yet. A boat full of lifters and athletes accompanied with an open bar and lots of food along with the gorgeous Sydney Harbour against a clear sky was the perfect setting to close off the year in style. To you our fans, followers and athletes/family/clients we just would like to say we are truly blessed to have you. We hope to continue to improve what we are doing year after year and continue to make a positive impact on the industry and more importantly in peoples lives. We feel we have now assembled the best team of coaches that work cohesively together and bring to the table so much knowledge and experience from different fields with over 25 years experience combined between all of us. Its amazing how things go so well when everyone is on the same page and works as one unit and one family. None of the above would have been possible without you guys - seriously!!! 2015 is going to be even bigger! One more Adonis Athletics is in the process of opening. Watch this space.
