2015 ’ll Be Another Watershed –Buhari Former presidential candidate of the All Nigerian Peoples’ Party (ANPP) and Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and now leader of the all Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, said in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Tuesday, that the 2015 general election will be another watershed in Nigeria politics. Buhari said at the ground of the government house: “Nigeria is again at the cross roads. The 2015 general elections signal another watershed in Nigerian politics. We have decided to come together to confront the impunity of the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).” He continued: “Nigeria is a blessed country. We are naturally endowed. So, we have decided to come together to move Nigeria forward. As we move closer to 2015, we have a lot of work to do. Education is the best legacy a leader can give to his people and Governor Amaechi has done quite well on the front. “The leadership of APC decided to target governors that are doing well and have actually made a difference in governance. And Governor Amaechi, without question, is one of such governors. So, we have come to Rivers State to ask him to join us in our collective effort to transform Nigeria. We need Governor Amaechi in APC.” Speaking earlier, the former governor of Lagos State and the national leader of APC, Tinubu, described Amaechi as a courageous and progressive governor that APC needs in his team to collectively fashion a new way forward for the country. Tinubu disclosed that the APC leaders could not honour their earlier appointment to visit Rivers State on Monday, November 4, because the airspace was closed. “We were prepared. We were ready to visit River State but the airspace was closed. So, we decided to call off our trip because we did not want to come to Rivers State in a confused environment. “We came to Rivers State to ask Governor Amaechi to join the APC. We want progressives like him in APC. We know that Amaechi is being persecuted because he is fighting for the wealth of Rivers people.” Chief Bisi Akande was direct in his speech: “We are here to ask Governor Amaechi to join us in APC. He is a performing governor. He is a leader of leaders. We will not go back without asking Amaechi to join APC. We came to Rivers State to invite him to join APC because it is a party of the progressives.” Daily Newswatch
