We welcome MANZANA TROPICAL a peruvian band with roots of Chicha based in London playing the best amazonic, original cumbia and classic tunes direct from the jungle of Peru. ******************************** MANZANA TROPICAL Manzana Tropical is an exciting new Latin act from London playing the form of Peruvian Cumbia known as Chicha. Having been brought up immersed in London’s thriving Latin American musical community young musicians Manuy and Cleyder Figueroa began the project inspired by the heritage of their motherland in Peru. Their music incorporates a homage to classic Peruvian acts including Grupo Nectar, Los Pakines and Chacalon as well as Latin legends such as Santana combined with a strong London sensibility. Manzana’s live set comprises some re-interpretations of Chicha classics and some original songs. The band also contains the core musicians from one of the finest Andean fusion acts – Kausary - who have played at most of the UK’s top festivals and have toured extensively in Europe.
