21 years ago we were in the thick of Childhood Cancer. We are one of the lucky parents who didnt have to bury our child. Although some think it is over because the child is in remission, it is NEVER over. Childhood cancer has long term side effects on the patient, even if on the outside they look perfectly fine. Siblings endure family instability and as they watch their parents endure constant stress and worry. 90+% of the parents marriages fail due to the emotional and financial stresses. We need to advocate for more funding to find a cure and offer better supports for the families with children and siblings who suffer from this horrible disease.
