21 yrs ago today, this single mom married this single dad & blended our two families together. We had only known each other 20 days before he proposed to me (over the phone). He said, Would a girl like you be interested in marrying a guy like me? I said, Is this a proposal? And he said, A-buh-dee, a-buh-dee (stutter), umm, yeah!!! And I said, Well, yeah. As the story unfolded even though we only knew each other 20 days & there were plenty of nay sayers there were plenty of people who knew us, who knew each other that vouched for us. His cousin Ana was my sisters sister in-law & also rented from my aunt. His father & my mom attended the same church, his church family assured me he was a good man. We had similar acquaintances growing up but we never met each other. There was nothing very easy about our union as you can see from the testimony below - we each came w/lots of baggage & then some. There was even a season where we almost threw in the towel & divorce papers on the table. We overcame…again, & again, & again… Happy Anniversary, honey!!! Julio Alvarado
