#2100: #jhallaAdmin : sach kadwa hota hai... Rating system in TCS: I am really fed-up with the rating/band system in TCS. Always our PL comes with some bulls**t reason and says we cannot give you good rating this time. 1. There are some projects where they will hier you but they wont give you any work. Sometime you wont even get your ID from clients. And in this way if you have spent 1 year only in learning then some a**h**es manager comes and ask what you have done since 1 year. How any associate can work without ID and if we ask to share team mate ID then it is security violation. Finally you end with so much frustration. 2. Sometime PL are really not clear what they want from us. They will see go to knowmax, upload documents, do some other activities other than project, but if you do all of them and dont get time for project then they will say - your primary goal is project. You are here to work in the project not to participate in MAITREE. 3. They will assign so many goals but fact is that rating is pre-determined. I have seen there are people who will just do technical work and get 5 ratings. 4. PL and PM just play game with us. If PL gives good rating then manager wont consider you and if PL doesnt give good rating then these same stupid managers will I dont know what you do in the project - I have assigned PL so that they can track your work. 5. If you become 3 + exp in the same project the PL will say you need to do PL activities, once you will do all of them and if you ask for good rating then again they will say “we have good plans for you, we will initiate your visa. Dont expect this year”. 6. If you are junior in the team then they will say we need to give good ratings to seniors since they work hard, once you become senior in the team then again they will say since you are going onsite so we need to enthusiasm fresher so we will give less rating. 7. Sometime your locality also matters. If you are in Chennai and if you don’t belong to Tamilnadu then you can understand how much you survive. Same if you are in Andhra and don’t belong to Andhra then you are gone. We have this problem in all the states. Note: I am not saying all PL are like that but we have majority of them. May be I’m unlucky enough to get good PL in TCS. Finally after going all these frustrations still those people work in TCS since they know God is watching our work and he will do good for us.
