2103 FINANCE SUMMER SCHOOL FAQ- Frequently Asked Questions. What is the venue of the programme? The venue is University of Lagos and the halls will be communicated to you upon registration, which is based on the programme you are participating in. When is the summer school starting and ending? The programme will commence by 9:00 a.m. on the 2nd September, 2013 and ends by 12:00 noon of 20th September, 2013. What summer school area of competence? The two core areas of participation are ‘Section for Lawyers’ and separate ‘Section for Finance and Investment Professionals’. Who can attend? For the Lawyers, admission will be for practicing law firms with or without corporate finance bias, lawyers or judges with career plan for financial laws; also young law graduates or final year students in both law school and tertiary institutions across Africa. For the Finance and Investment Professionals, the admission is opened to members of organisation and person within the financial markets and other related areas. Also any person in other field with quest to understand or develop or diversify their career portfolio to finance can also be admitted; coupled with fresh graduates in related fields or student in the final year in the related fields of management and finance. What is the tuition fee? The tuition fee for the three weeks is subsidized at $1,000 or equivalent in naira N160, 000.00. The application fee of $100.00 is suspended for those applying at least a week to the commencement of the programme. Late registration fee may attract the registration fee. What is the time structure of the programme? To make it easy for those who are working, the three weeks is considerably structure to cater for these set of participants; Monday to Wednesday of the week the programme commenced by 12:00 noon and end by 5:30 p.m. daily; while Thursday to Friday commences from 9:00 a.m. and ends by 5:30 p.m. Who are the faculty? The lists can be assessed from the website on dgsf.edu.ng/summerschool. The lead faculty comprises of Iris Mack, an award winning MIT quantitative finance professor and the second black woman to be awarded doctorate in applied mathematics from Harvard, United states. She is an author and an authority in financial engineering, risk management etc. and Anna Lind an experienced wealth management and financial engineering from Switzerland and the founder of the Swiss Financial Engineering AG. What will be the deliverable of the programme Participants will be awarded a ‘Certificate in Financial Asset & Investment Management’.
