22-11-2014 - IOF violently quells Fridays protests. WEST BANK, - Violent confrontations broke out Friday afternoon in different areas of occupied Jerusalem and near military checkpoints in West Bank towns and villages. To the north of Jerusalem, Palestinian pro-Aqsa protesters clashed with Israeli troops at Qalandiya checkpoint following the Friday prayers. The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked journalists as they were covering events and fired tear gas and stun grenades at them. During the events, two young men suffered rubber bullet injuries and many others suffocated from tear gas. In the southern area of al-Khalil city, several young men were also wounded during confrontations with Israeli soldiers at Tareq Ibn Ziyad junction. The events started when Israeli troops attacked a march following the Friday prayers protesting Israels violations against the Aqsa Mosque. Palestinian journalist Lama Khater as well as a Reuters reporter suffered rubber bullet injuries during the clashes. Similar events broke out in Aida refugee camp to the north of Bethlehem and a young man was able to launch an arson attack on a military watchtower near the segregation wall there. The IOF also violently subdued the weekly anti-settlement march of Kafr Qaddum town near Nablus, causing one woman to suffer from tear gas suffocation and three young men from bullet injuries. During the march, some young men were able to destroy the water cannon of an armored vehicle and prevent it from spraying jets of stinking fluid at the protesters.
