RAIN INCREASING OVER NORTHEASTERN NSW OVERNIGHT Weather Situation As a low pressure system deepens in the Coral Sea tonight, an associated rain band is expected to extend over the northeast of the state. Rain is expected to start increasing over the Mid North Coast region tonight, then to extend to the Northern Rivers and Northern Tablelands overnight and early Wednesday. During this period steady rain is expected, with some intermittent heavy bursts likely, particularly from thunderstorms in the rain band. Thunderstorms and rain which may lead to flash flooding are forecast for the Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast and Northern Tablelands forecast districts. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: Dont drive, ride or walk through flood water. Keep clear of creeks and storm drains. If you are trapped by flash flooding, seek refuge in the highest available place and ring 000 if you need rescue. For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500.
