2241 Anonymous Rapid City,SD I had to have been only six or seven when I had my very first run in with a little person. It was Christmas Eve and my grandparents had come to visit from Standing Rock reservation. That night I could not sleep so I snuck into the living room to sleep with my grandma. But there was no room and my grandpa was sleeping on the floor right below her. So instead I decided to curl up in the corner by a lamp stand and sleep there. I dont know why but I decided to stare at our Christmas tree until I fell asleep. But there was more there than just lights and decorations. When I looked at the tree I saw what I thought was an elf? Of course I was a little girl so seeing an elf on Christmas eve was normal right? Wrong. As I continued to look at this thing i could see his red eyes and could clearly see that he wasnt so friendly looking. But that was it! I dont remember anything after that. So several years later being a teenager I talked to my mom about it since we were sharing ghost stories. What she said actually haunts me to this day and I will tell you why at the end of my story. What she said was this I remember that night. You came into my room that night and woke me up to ask me if you could go outside to play with the elf! I told you no and grabbed you and put you into bed with me. That so called elf was actually trying to take you away Its funny how I dont remember that part. See stories around standing rock rez say that these little people actually steal children. I dont know what they do with them or anything though. It is scary though. And the reason it still haunts me today? Because I believe that little elf is still following me to this day. I often see something small out of the corner of my eye. It frightens me because I now have children of my own.....
