226 years ago today our 5 time great grandfather, Edward Westlake was on board the Charlotte one of the ships in the First Fleet and landed at Sydney Cove. A couple of weeks later he landed in Norfolk Island. Originally from Devon, sentenced with his in-laws the Mortimores for stealing sheep and money, and finally shipped to Australia. We owe our heritage to people like Edward who carved out and created the land as we know it today. A wonderful country, we owe it to them to ensure it stays that way.
