(23.40 min.Video) Mel Tonasket speaks about our Colville Tribe in the 70s, when our 12 Bands of the Colville Confederation were facing Termination by Congress, later running for office in Omak, on the pledge to vote, No, and after winning, helped revise the Colville Constitution in 1972, thereby closing any future Termination efforts. I applaud Mel for his hard work and ability to work within our Tribe and facilitate Positive influences with the State of Washington and the Federal Government in D.C. Mels personal support of a much needed Omak Clinic which will serve all the Districts, not only will save much needed IHS dollars being spent off the Rez now, is another of many reasons we need his Wisdom, Experience and Leadership in Council.
