23/8/2014 Blue Watch - Launch 13:10 RTS 14:00(E) Wind WNW F4 Atlantic 85 Launched at request of Solent Coastguard to assist a Yacht, on passage to Chichester Marina , reporting position in the vicinity of the West Pole at entrance to Chichester Harbour. Yacht was reporting as damaged and holed following a collision with another vessel. Crew Paged and Atlantic 85 launched and made way quickly to scene. Once Lifeboat on scene the crew could see a large hole in the port side of the casualty vessel. A crewman was put aboard the casualty vessel to understand how much water had been taken in - once it was clear there was no immediate risk of the vessel sinking it was escorted by the Lifeboat to Sparkes Marina where it was secured to the pontoon. The Atlantic 85 then made its way back to the lifeboat station where it was recovered and made ready for service.
