23 Haram Food Items In PAKISTAN.. In a meeting with retail stores’ representatives, Siddiqi announced the decision to ban 23 items and asked to remove their stocks from the market, sources familiar with the matter told The Express Tribune. It was also learned that Customs have dispatched letters to officials deployed at all airports and sea ports of the country, instructing them to restrict the products’ entry to Pakistan. The federal ministry conveyed this instruction to all provincial chief secretaries through letters on May 5, sources said. The products that have been banned by the Pakistani authorities were imported from the US, England, France, Holland, Denmark, Spain and Indonesia, sources said. The objectionable ingredients, according to documents available with The Express Tribune, include gelatin, mechanically slaughtered chicken, white wine, red wine and cochineal.
