23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. ~ Colossians 3:23-24 Today is our state cross country meet, and our boys have a shot at winning it all. Our girls have a shot at 2nd. Its easy as a coach to get caught up in the chase for the championship and forget where the real focus should always remain. I gave these verses to our kids yesterday to encourage them to lay it all on the line today. But I think I needed these verses right now as much or more than anyone. Its been a great season so far, and today is the grand finale. However the chips fall today, whether we finish first or we dont, Im proud of these kids. It has been a blessing to work with them this season and it will be a blessing to work with them today. So now, I pray that todays races glorify God. If we win, I pray that I and every one of our kids give credit and glory to the Almighty God who made it possible. If we dont, I pray that I and every one of our kids is gracious in defeat, and we give glory to God for all Hes given us and all Hes allowed us to accomplish. At the end of the day, I hope and pray that all will know it is Jesus Christ that we serve.
