237 years ago, the American Colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence forming a new nation -- These United States of America. "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." -Preamble of the Declaration of Independence To be an American is both an opportunity and a blessing from God. The blessing is that I live in a nation that has its roots in Biblical values and human dignity. The opportunity is that I get to remind this great nation of those great roots. My prayer is that we, as a nation, never forget our noble beginnings. And that we honor God as the source from which our blessings come.
