23rd Ameriana Hall of Fame Golf Classic to be played at Pebble Brook G.C. July 22 (NEW CASTLE) – The 23rd Ameriana Hall of Fame Golf Classic, to benefit the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, will be played on Monday, July 22 at Pebble Brook Golf Club in Noblesville. Teams of five golfers are paired with a Hall of Fame Ambassador and compete in the scramble event, which will begin at 12:30 P.M. Involving nearly 200 participants, the event features Hall of Fame inductees and legendary names from sports franchises and colleges across the state. A post-round dinner and awards presentation will follow the event, at roughly 5:00 PM, including a speech from featured guest and IU legend Calbert Cheaney. Cheaney, a 1989 graduate of Evansville Harrison High School, was a three-time All-American and 1993 College Player of the Year and holds the Indiana University and Big Ten Conference career scoring record of 2,613 points. Following a 13-year NBA career, he is currently the Director of Operations for Indiana University Mens Basketball. Reservations for the dinner and speech are available for $25 by calling the Hall at (765) 529-1891. With Ameriana Bank’s continuous sponsorship, the outing has raised over $469,000 for the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. Proceeds are used to fund operation of the 14,000 square foot museum in New Castle. Title sponsor Ameriana Bank is a community bank that started out in the town of New Castle, Indiana in 1890. Ameriana has grown and while they now offer a full range of banking products, they are still, at heart, a community bank. Their name, Ameriana, is a constant reminder to all of us to strive to combine the ideals that make "America" great, while remaining grounded in the Midwestern values that make "Indiana" special. And as a community bank they have always believed that helping the people and businesses in the towns where they are located is the best investment they can make. ###23rd Ameriana Hall of Fame Golf Classic to be played at Pebble Brook G.C.
