24/08/14 - Cannot think of marriage before Naya (New) Pakistan: Imran My comments (awaiting moderation) Imran Khan declared, yesterday, that he wants a Naya Pakistan soon, as he wants to get married, which announcement brought great cheer from the crowd at the Red Zone Sit-In and provided hope that a final breakthrough was forthcoming (given that 5 out of the 6 demands of the PTI was accepted by the Govt. on Sat.)! In a moment of bizarre lack of concentration (or momentary madness); or even something privately is brewing up and, I am sure, we all wish him well for that happy and auspicious occasion, as Khan may be almost 62 years-old, in November, but he looks and is very physically-fit for his age - according to the doctors last year, when he fell from the top of a stage in a public rally; or to dispel the image that he is only interested in becoming the PM (by hook or by crook); or to create an impending atmosphere & environment of face-saving (on disagreement of the key but now diluted demand that the PM step down for one month only but not the PML(N) Govt. and appointment of a caretaker PM from the ruling party) before he compromises with the Govt. (which refused that proposal); or a genuine desire for re-marriage (as he has been amicably & honourably divorced by Jemima Khan (but he always stays at her mothers house - Lady Goldsmith, at her invitation, in London, when in the UK) for 10 years, since 2004, but his political ambition has superceded his personal life). But, as usual, Khan did a U-Turn, today, as the caption indicates and must have disappointed many a Fair Maidens in Pakistan (and perhaps, also wishing to become the First Lady in the near future)!
