Best supporting Actor Harley Davis and Erin Bryant Honorary Awards go to Santa, Rufus, Lou, Steve, Charlie, Benny Nix, and Poppy Today’s game was a must win for Snake Gully as there are only six games left in this year’s season, so we need to win as many as possible to have a chance at the finals. No mojo magic with the toss for Geoff with Lemon Grove winning and electing to bat. Erin and Lou opening the bowling doing a great job of keeping Lemon Grove’s run rate at a slow rate. Erin unlucky to go wicket less finishing with 0 for 12 off his 12 overs. Lou also with tidy figures of 0 for 25, Stroudy was talked into having a bowl and still having a pretty crook hammy only ran in off a couple of steps to take a wicket with his first ball, another two wickets all bowled and combining with Santa for a run out topped off a great effort from him. Poppy, Geoff and Harley also having a bowl but unable to get wickets. Lemon grove batted out their 35 overs to finish with a score of 154. We fielded pretty tightly today stopping the boundaries and cutting off the singles, the only fielding blemishes a couple of dropped catches to Charlie and one to Lou , but the team played pretty well today to restrict the opposition to a gettable total. No Kurt as he had been called into work, so Harley and Geoff opened the batting, what can I say? Play that Funky Music Geoff Boy the mojo has returned. Harley playing the support role to Geoff who was teeing off sixes and fours at will, batting like a man on a mission. Geoff had the Lemon Grove batsmen rotating to try and work out how to get this batting machine out, all to no avail, they tried to bounce him so he would hook them to the fence, so they tried the slower bowlers only for them to be hit for six finally being dismissed for a fine 60 runs. Stroudy first drop started where Geoff left off, taking to the Lemon Grove bowlers. Harley 29 and Stroudy 49 both finishing not out and Snake Gully convincing winners in 24 overs. Well Done Snake, The Snake Is On Fire. We play Valentine at Valentine next week so we may get the bus and make a road trip out of it.
