He’s subsequently shaped own solo career with a batch of acclaimed albums - Peace Machine, Innerevolution Ruby Electric, Steamroller and now his best yet, Influence on Provogue records . Born in Aberystwyth, Wales, he relocated to Canada to become a regular fixture on the Toronto club scene, where his fluid guitar playing quickly earned him a loyal following. He subsequently made his name in LA with his signature guitar style and unique tonal palette influenced by such greats as Clapton, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Cray and above all, Stevie Ray Vaughan, to whom he is most often compared. Philip also appeared at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival at Madison Square Garden last year. “In some ways I went full circle since my parents played Clapton and Dire Straits when I was growing up” he says. “I heard nothing but the best then and that’s what I’m trying to do today.
