24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST Issued At: 5:00 p.m., 17 January 2014 Valid Beginning: 5:00 p.m. today until 5:00 p.m. tomorrow Synopsis: At 4:00 PM today, the center of Tropcial Depression AGATONwas estimated based on all available data at 165 km northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur or 190 km east of Surigao City (9.6°N 127.2°E). Northeast Monsoon affecting Luzon. Forecast: Caraga Region and the provinces of Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, Compostela Valley and Southern Leyte will have rains with gusty winds with moderate to rough seas. Central and the rest of Eastern Visayas will experience cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula and Davao del Sur will be cloudy with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. Palawan and the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of luzon will be cloudy with light rains. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the northeast to northwest over Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
