24-HOUR PUBLIC WEATHER FORECAST Issued at: 5:00AM 09August 2013 SYNOPSIS: : At 4:00 am today, Tropical Depression “LABUYO” was estimated based on all available data at 1,150 km East of Catarman, Northern Samar (12.2ºN, 136.2ºE) with maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 9 kph. Meanwhile, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated in the vicinity of Cuyo, Palawan (11.4ºN, 121.5ºE) embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao. FORECAST: MIMAROPA and Eastern Visayas will experience cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Metro manila, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Western and Central Visayas, Zamboanga peninsula, Northern Mindanao and CARAGA will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstroms. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Light to moderate winds blowing from the Northeast to Northwest will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from Northwest to Southwest over Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate. ANGELES CITY will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms light to moderate. Winds will likewise be light to moderate.
