PAUL JONES, BBC RADIO 2 ALBANY DOWN is an original contemporary rock/blues band with influences ranging from Hendrix and Led Zeppelin to modern rock bands like The Black Keys and Clutch. They found their own sound with their 2011 debut album, South of the City”, while their second album, Not Over Yet is full of their strongest songs, lingering melodies and great musicianship. The band’s last major show was at Shepherds Bush Empire and they kick start 2015 with a special Boom Boom Rock/Blues double header. Albany Down comprises Paul Rogers sound-alike Paul Muir and mighty guitarist David Turley, Donna Peters on drums and bass player Billy Dedman. Special guests are The TROY REDFERN Band - an up & coming slide guitar led, incendiary power trio promoting their self titled debut CD. The band features ace slide guitar player, song writer, vocalist and producer Troy Redfern, Stuart MacDonald (Peace/Freddie King/Salt Mick Clarke Band) and shuffle drummer Phil Greenhouse.
