24-Hour Public Weather Forecast Issued at: 5:00 AM 10 October 2014 SYNOPSIS: At 4:00 AM today, the eye of Typhoon “OMPONG” {VONGFONG} was located based on all available data at 788 km east of Itbayat, Batanes (21.0 ºN, 129.4ºE) with maximum winds of 185 kph and gustiness of up to 220 kph. It is forecast to move north at 13 kph. Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Visayas and Mindanao. FORECAST: Visayas, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula and the province of Palawan will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to northwest will prevail over northern and cental Luzon and coming from the southwest over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throught the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
