24-Hour Public Weather Forecast Issued at : 5:00 AM 31 January 2014 Synopsis: At 4:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression ”Basyang” was estimated based on all available data at 768 km east northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (9.7ºn, 133.2ºe) with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move west at 30 kph. Forecast: Southern part of SAMar, Southern part of eastern SAMar, Leyte including Biliran Island, Southern Leyte, CAMotes Island, Cebu, Negros provinces, Siquijor Island, Bohol, Surigao del Norte including Siargao Island, Surigao del Sur, Northern part of Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte, CAMiguin Island, Dinagat province and MisAMis Oriental will have rains with gusty winds with moderate to rough seas. The rest of Visayas and Northern Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Bicol region, Palawan and the rest of Mindanao will be cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with isolated light rains. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the northeast to northwest over Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
