24 September DON’T CONCERN YOURSELF WITH GREAT MATTERS Memory Verse: …I do not concern myself with great matters. (Ps 131:1). Read: Psalms 131:1-2 1: My heart is not proud, O LORD, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. 2: But I have stilled and quieted by soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me. Message One of the principles that Moses taught the children of Israel was that, the secret things belong to God, while the things which have been revealed, belong to mankind (Deut 29:29). This means that, there are certain things which God wants you to know, and therefore, He reveals them to you. However, there are certain things which God conceals and such are what is referred to as secret things. It is these secret things which I refer to as, great matters. These things are too wonderful for you to know. Seeking to understand great matters might be frustrating, and even lead to undue stress. Hence, David took a proactive decision of quieting his soul. In essence, David, restricted his mind from thinking about things which God has concealed. This was a wise decision for David in order to cope with things which he did not understand. Action Point Take a proactive decision today, not to concern yourself with great matters. As long as you are the child of God, committed to him, you can rest assured that He will do nothing on earth without making it known to His prophets (Amos 3:7). Therefore, if God has not revealed something to you or the prophet around you, it is probably a great matter or something too wonderful for you to know.
