24 children’s parents refuse polio drops From Our Correspondent GUJRANWALA: Parents of 24 children refused the polio teams to administer drops to their children in different areas here on Tuesday. The left over children include: Manahil and Qamar, children of Abdul Manan of DC Colony; Rafi, son of Binyamin of People’s Colony; Ayesha, Zainab and Asma, daughters of Tanvir; Hamza, son of Zubair of Bismillah Colony; Abdullah, son of Irfan of People’s Colony; Abdullah, Abid and Farman, sons of Azam; and Ramazan, son of Zabair of Kohlwala village. Dr Sajjad told The News that the team in-charges had reported the matter to the DCO through the EDO Health. He said that the DCO had ordered City Assistant Commissioner Attiqur Rehman to ensure that left over children had been administered the polio drops. As many as 1,721 teams of health workers, including males and females, were performing duty during the three-day campaign. 7 illegal Afghans held from seminary From Our Correspondent GUJRANWALA: The police and a sensitive agency arrested seven illegal Afghans from a seminary at Bharan Village, Wazirabad. They have been shifted to an unknown place for interrogation. The identity of arrested people was being kept secret.
