24 years ago, Frank and I had a lovely dinner, walked out into the blistery cold, walked around in back of the hotel underneath the moonlight. I couldnt take the cold anymore and my boyfriend was quiet and unresponsive, I started stomping towards the door looking for warmth and an explanation for his lack of meaningful conversation. He stopped me, got on one knee and pulled out a ring, and asked if I would marry him. I said yes and we have celebrated that Saturday after Thanksgiving as our anniversary. Snap forward 24 years, he walks out, do want to go out to dinner. Me, nah, Im good and he said so am I and he went back to listen to music. It may sound like the end of a marriage but actually to me, its the sign of a strong marriage that goes beyond romance and fine dinners. We were broken at one time and repaired our marriage through dedication, tears, and communication and a willingness to move beyond the hurt. Its stronger for what we been through and now we can weather any blistering storm. BTW, in The year 2000, we couldnt figure out how to celebrate our 10th anniversary. So we hopped on a boat and got married in Key West on November 27.
