24 yr police veteran and now retired commisioner. this man speaks volumes of sense. An officer that speaks like how I envisioned and looked up to police officers as a child. The police serves the community. They dont serve us we serve them. There are (3) type of people that join the police department. One joins because of the need of a job and can give him/her a comfortable lifestyle. The 2nd person joins to serve and protect the public. The 3rd type of person joins because they love the power and control. he goes on to speak of his fear of the third category of persons within the departments and the miltarization of the police departments across the country is a very bad idea. I totally agree, and all the horrible things we see captured on video by citizens are in most cases that 3rd type of personality and seemingly more of those these days, than days past. Great interview.
