World emerging during creation Verse 241 லீலை போலக் காணு முகம் பெண்போல் காணும் நிலை பார்த்தால் புருஷரைப் போல் நெறிப்புக் காணும் வாலைபோல் காணும் ஐயா பின்னே பார்த்தால் மகத்தான் அண்டமது கோர்வை காணும் ஆலைபோல் சுழன்றோடும் கம்பத்துள்ளே அரஅரா சக்கரங்கள் ஆறும் காணும் சேலையாம் அண்டமதில் சிவம்தான் வீசும் சிவத்திலே அர அரா பரமும் காணே Translation: The divine play will appear like a lady’s face When seen there will be a frown like a man When looked again it will appear like vaalai The magnificient universe will appear together Within the pillar that whirls like a fan Ara araa! The six cakras will be seen In the cloth of the universe Sivam will blow Within the Sivam, ara araa! See the Param. Commentary: This verse is the first in the series that talk about creation. Pujandar says that the image that is seen in the pillar, the sushumna will appear like a lady’s face. Then again, it will appear like the frown of a man. This means, the embodiment of consciousness will appear as both a man and a woman. It will appear like the kundalini sakti. The universe in its totality will appear within the pillar that whirls like a wheel. The six cakras will appear next. Within this manifold the cloth, the consciousness Sivam will blow. Within this super consciousness the divine with a form, param, the manifested universe with the life forms will appear. This verse explains creation in the microcosm, where the sushumna nadi, the energy centers and consciousness along with all the manifestations appear. It also explains creation in the macrocosm where the universes appear. This verse shows us clearly that what is perceived as manifested universe is so only because of consciousness.
