24th December 2014 : NHRC Hon. Commissioner Mohna Ansari and a team of NHRC Regional Office Biratnagar went for follow up monitoring of a youth with mental problems, who was initiated for rescue and rehabilitation by NHRC Biratnagar after being tied in a tree with a chain for 15 years. Now, he is taking rest at home after 2 years of treatment at BP Koirala Health Science Council and he is now all able to do his household chores himself along with consulting the doctor. After meeting the youth, Hon. Ansari urged the government to come up with plan and programs for the mental health issues. NHRC Regional Director Mr. Kosh Raj Neupane was also present at the occasion.
