24th Oct,2014: WHEN LIFE SAYS NO, LOOK UP FOR A YES-1(Esther 4:5-17) Tragedy struck at the Onikolobo area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria in late July 2014 when a 33-year-old man, Oluwatosin Otaiku, stabbed himself to death after his fiancee, Olaogun Oluwatoyin, discontinued the relationship. Late Mr. Otaiku killed himself after his woman told him she was no longer interested in the relationship. The deceased was said to have become worried and this made neighbours, who were aware of the development, to intervene. Efforts were made to reconcile them. On one of such occasions, the duo was invited to discuss in privacy inside a shop. The man was said to have hidden a knife in his pocket, prepared to end it all if there was no truce. The fiancee stood her ground and maintained that she could not continue with the relationship. On hearing this negative verdit, the deceased brought out the knife from his pocket and started stabbing himself. He was rushed to the nearest hospital but died on the way to the hospital. The Holy Ghost is reminding you that in life, when someone tells you NO, it doesnt mean you cannot move forward. It simply means you cant move forward with him or her. That is why you MUST NEVER give up. In fact, there are many NOs (obstacles and setbacks) in the pathway of a man or woman with a great star. What you do with a NO(setbacks) is what determines how a YES(open door) will locate you. It isnt what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it. Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever (Lance Armstrong). No matter how the year has been, determine to get comfortable with being uncomfortable! Esther knew this this when she said: .....I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish. She knew there was a law that said that, she as the wife, could not see her husband-the king, unless he sent for her. That That was a very big and visible NO(obstacle), but she knew that any man-made NO was a stepping stone to a divine YES, so she took a risk of faith and that faith step changed her story, from Victim to Victor. Your name, family and ministry will also change as you refuse to be stopped by the many NOs that life throws at you. When life says NO, look up to your God for a YES. Never, never, never, give up!
