24th October 2013. His Majesty Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Irema-Ngoma and his entourage arrived safely in Germany for Omusinga to start his private visit to Germany. At Munich International Airport His Majesty Omusinga was warmly welcome by Mr. Andreas Muehlbauer and Mr. Robert Krancke who are the Royal hosts. His Majesty arrived in Germany at 12:30 PM German local time aboard Emirates Airbus A380 accompanied by Hon. David Bradford Nguru, Hon. Costa Bwambale and his wife. An elaborate programme has been lined up for His Majesty’s tour of Germany and Austria which will include appointments with Mayors of Cities, visits to Cultural sites and schools. Royal Press Unit GERMANY 25th October 2013 At 8:00 AM, His Majesty Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Irema-Ngoma paid a courtesy call on His Worship the Mayor of Arnstorf, Alfons Sittinger in his office. The Mayor and his team welcomed His Majesty warmly and held bilateral talks, after which they both exchanged gifts. His Majesty Omusinga signed a ceremonial visitors’ book specially and artistically customized with Omusinga’s words and His names. This is a special autograph normally signed exclusively by dignitaries who visit the town. This is a tradition of German towns for centuries. His Majesty Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Irema-Ngoma thanked the Mayor and his team for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to Him and His entourage and conveyed Royal greetings from the Abanya Rwenzururu to the people of Germany. He invited the Mayor to His next years’ coronation anniversary celebrations, which he readily accepted. After this meeting with the Mayor, His Majesty visited Anstorf School where 800 enthusiastic school children had lined up to receive Him with applause. The School Director, staff and students joined in the celebration for hosting a King for the very first time. The school band with a Rwenzururu flag played a variety of music to entertain His Majesty and after the welcome speech by the school Director and Omusinga’s greeting remarks, His Majesty was taken on a tour of the school by the Director and staff. Accompanying His Majesty were the District Chairperson, Town Mayor of Arnstorf and several town officials. Right after this, His Majesty paid a courtesy call on the Mayor of Simbach/Inn town. The Mayor warmly welcomed His Majesty to Simbach/Inn, a town close to the Austrian boarder. The Omusinga signed a special Guest Book on the page that was decorated with the Rwenzururu flag and conveyed royal greetings from Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu to the people of Germany. The Mayor presented His Majesty with a gift of the seal of Simbach Inn. Omusinga invited the Mayor to His next years’ 48th Coronation Anniversary celebrations which the Mayor graciously accepted. Later, His Majesty visited Simbach Inn School where He was well-received. The School Director eloquently expressed their appreciation for this Royal visit, the first of its kind and wished us a pleasant stay. His Majesty addressed the students and conveyed royal greetings from the Queen and Abanya Rwenzururu. He also briefed them about the beauty and opportunities in Rwenzururu Kingdom. He encouraged them to be committed to their studies because they are the future leaders of this world. Mr. Andeas Mulhbauer, our host made a presentation on the Rwenzori region by use of short videos and pictures, especially the progress of the Holy Dove Secondary school. A collection was made at the end of the meeting to support the Holy Dove School project. Both the Arnstorf and Simbach Inn Schools have been raising funds since 2004 to support Holy Dove Secondary School in Kinyamaseke, Kasese District and Andreas is the lead person in this. The Omusinga and His entourage were treated to a delicious lunch across the boarder in Austria, courtesy of the Simbach Inn School administration. Some student leaders and staff joined us for lunch. His Majesty visited a Nursing Home for the elderly and Maternity centre where he was taken on a guided tour of the facility by Helmut Schaitl, the Manager of the Home alongside the Mayor of Arnstorf. The day was concluded by a grand party with town officials, school administrators, some students and teachers of Arnstorf School where promotional pictures and videos about Rwenzori were shown. His Majesty Omusinga was in His full ceremonial attire throughout the day. It was a wonderful experience for the German hosts and the all of us. More stories will follow as we progress with the Royal visit to Germany and Austria. ROYAL PRESS UNIT Germany 26th October 2013 Tour of Austria. Today His Majesty Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Irema-Ngoma and his entourage arrived in City of Kaprun in Austria. On arrival, His Majesty was warmly welcomed by His Worship the Mayor of the City of Kaprun Dr. Manfred Gassner and his wife Andrea Gassner along with Dr. Wilhelm Klepsch. The Omusinga and His Entourage were taken to the Hotel Muehle where His Majesty will spend three nights while in Austria. Then at 7:00 pm Austria local time His Majesty the Omusinga was treated to a special banquet/dinner in His Honour by Mr & Mrs Gottfred, the owners of the hotel which was attended by the Mayor of Kaprun, Mr. Andreas Muehlbauer and other guests. His Majesty Omusinga, the Mayor and the hosts exchanged gifts. Among the gifts His Majesty gave to His hosts were: spears and a basket. His Majesty thanked the Mayor and people of Austria for the warm welcome and hospitality they accorded to Him and His entourage, and he conveyed Royal greetings from Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu and the Banya Rwenzururu to the people of Austria. In his welcome remarks, the Mayor expressed thanks and appreciation His Majesty’s visit and assured the Omusinga a very delightful stay in Austria. He confessed that this was the very first time for a King to visit his town. His Majesty and His entourage travelled by road from Germany and enjoyed the ride that included special tours of spectacular places like the city of Salsburg where “Sound of Music” film was made. He also visited Palaces that were build hundreds of years ago. The trip from Arnstorf/Germany to Kaprun/Austria took eight hours.
