25 Days of Christmas Music - Day 18 One of the most beloved songs by many is Jeff Buckleys cover Hallelujah written by Leonard Cohen. It is also a hotly HATED song as well. And if you ever have really listened to it, its not a very wholesome song that many people think. Its VERY, VERY far from a religious song, despite the title of the song. That said, several Christian bands have used the chorus to punctuate one of their own songs with it tagged on at the end or as a bridge. However, the band Cloverton took it a step further and rewrote the lyrics to the song with a Christmas twist to it. Unbelievably power song. We sang this version of the song at church last week and WOW, what an incredible worship experience!
