25 Days of Christmas music - Day 14 Incredible original song by the band Emery (yes, we named our daughter after this band!). This season known as Christmas is celebrated for one reason ... its not Saturnalia, its not the winter solstice, its not Festivus. Its to celebrate God becoming one of us in the form of Jesus. Emmanuel, God With Us, the Savior of the world. Before anyone starts writing claiming that Jesus wasnt born on Christmas ... I KNOW! It was more than likely late September. But this is when we CELEBRATE the birth. And something i thought about as I was thinking about the whole late September birth for Jesus - do the math ... He would have been conceived in Mary by the Holy Spirit in late December ... December 25, perhaps! So maybe Emmanuel, God with us, came to the Earth on what we now call Christmas ... but was only in the womb at that time. Hmmmm, interesting thought!
