25 Songs 25 Days - Day 8: A song that reminds you of your first love. My first love......my only love has been Rick Dial. Oh yeah, there were other crushes, and a couple of other boyfriends, but when I met Rick.......I knew pretty quickly what real love was. It didnt matter that we were young; there was just a real love there. A love that grew through the years. He was my best friend, my confidante, my supporter, my protector - he was everything that a man is supposed to be for a woman. He was strong but he was kind, and gentle, and loving. We all laugh about him dedicating Wooly Booly to me at their shows through the years, but Rick and I knew that this song was OUR song. We hadnt been dating very long when he took me to a show he was playing (at the cow palace - LOL). When they played this song, he sang his part and then stepped down off of the stage and swept me on to the dance floor as the band continued to play the instrumental. I can still remember how it felt to be held in his arms that night (and for anyone who knows Rick, it was a BIG deal for him to dance - especially during a show). Throughout the years, he dedicated this song to me more times than I can remember; and I guess the two of us just kind of took it for granted because they played it so much. But these days, it sends chills down my spine and gives me goosebumps because I dont hear Terry Kath singing it - but Rick Dial; and then I see his smile as he pulls me onto the dance floor and takes me into his arms. youtu.be/Jq4nwGArRDc
