THE BERLIN WALL CAME DOWN Its hard for those who are too young to remember this event, how stunning it was that the Berlin Wall was coming down... the collapse of the Iron Curtain had started in June of 1989, when Hungary said it would no longer prohibit people from leaving for the West. Then other nations followed.. in a sequence of political dominoes. But it was the sudden opening of the Berlin Wall... that iconic symbol of Communisms failure, of having to trap citizens to live under their system... that its opening was one that stunned the world.
