25 years ago today Thursday May 25th 1989 I sat in my office at The Concert Company Presents / Stephen Starr Presents at 2nd and Race Street in Philadelphia among other things laminating up passes for dear friend and important client John Eddie and The Hard Cold Truth Tour of 1989 who had a double show the next day at Rye Playland and The Stone Pony in Asbury Park , back in those days before Laptops , Tablets and Smartphones , there was no Facebook, Linkedin or Social Media everything was handwritten or typed Show flyers and posters were printed at a printer and hung were ever we could hang them , in those days I would have an number of address books and legal pads that I would carry in my all too famous Black / Gold Zero Halliburton Briefcase along with all of my laminates that could get be through Check Point Charlie and the Iron Curtain I do recall around 6 pm when we closed the office not being quite finished my work in preparing for the long memorial day weekend and having to be on the Amtrak Northeast Corridor at 3am , so I could be in Rye by stage call at 8:00am , so I took my usual way home to 11th and Federal in South Philadelphia , a walk down 2nd street , The Market Frankford El to 8th street , The Route 47 Bus to Wharton Street a stop at Genos Steaks , for a double heart attack special and then home to finish up and pack for my trip of another adventurous weekend with dear friend and important client John Eddie , in 1989 good olde buddy P.k. Lavengood was in the band as was Baby Joe Sweeney as was Shaun Pelton and my best bud Everett Bradley , Jim Homan was the masterful Production Manager and there were so many others like my good friend Steve Ponzetto and Ned from SPL Sound , I recall riding in a cab to Amtrak 30th Street Station in Philadelphia when the rest of Philadelphia was heading to bed , I had no idea what fate had in store for me over the next few days not too mention the next few weeks , the following Saturday on the 27th I was introduced to my dear friend HV Inthehouse Henry Vaccaro Jr. for the first time , without Henry and his family especially his dad Henry Vaccaro Sr. who has been like a second father to me I do not think I would know anyone at The North Jersey Shore through thick and thin , In Dark Passages and Bright Days over the last 25 years we have been through it all, 25 years later we both have sons born 2 days apart from each other and we have shared so much .... Happy 25th Pally Boy my words could never express my gratitude to you , your dad and The entire Vaccaro Clan for everything you have done for me so on the anniversary of our 25 years of our meeting for first time , I lift my shot glass of crown royal and my Monte Cristo # 2 cigar and say Here , Here God Bless The House of The Vaccaros and The House of HV
