25 years ago, when the Berlin Wall came down I was filming in Portugal with an eclectic bunch of people the movie: Busters Bedroom directed by Rebecca Horn, with Sven Nyquist behind the camera and Donald Sutherland, Geraldine Chaplin, Amanda Ooms, Valentina Cortese, Taylor Mead, David Warrilow, Martin Wuttke, Lena Lessing and me before the camera. We watched together the wall coming down on Portuguese TV and it was discussed if we should stop filming and fly to Berlin - but the show had to go on -Jim Rakete made it back on time. Wolfgang Becker came to visit us and reported first hand from Berlin and my boyfriend Max taped the night at the Brandenburg Gate for me like a radio reporter. I still have the cassette A month later back in Berlin and the unbelievable had really happened - Our make up artists had been from the former GDR, both had fled and had started new lives in West Berlin - they had been the most silent and realistic when we watched the wall come down, foreseeing most of what would happen in the years to come... tonight I wanted to celebrate with dear friends in LA and AFM and Villa Aurora - Los Angeles, but the flue got me down and here I am posting on facebook now ...
